With RRR releasing in theatres across the United States on Friday, there’s endless love for the team behind SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus action-drama as they received a grand welcome at the film’s screening ahead of the 95th Academy Awards.
Fans thronged to watch the epic movie again at the world’s largest theater in Los Angeles, where the team was given a standing ovation for their efforts. They were also treated to a special introduction by director SS Rajamouli who took the audience through the story of RRR.
The film is set in the 1920s pre-independent era and is based on the real-life stories of two real heroes and revolutionaries, Komaram Bheem (N. T. Rama Rao) and Alluri Sitarama Raju (Ram Charan).
Variance Films, Beyond Fest, American Cinematheque, Potentate, and Sarigama Cinemas announced that the hit action-epic is going nationwide for a one-night-only encore screening on March 1. The entire team of RRR was present at the event, which went houseful within minutes.
SS Rajamouli’s RRR has dominated the box office this year and has won over critics with its awe-inspiring action sequences, compelling storytelling, and catchy songs. And with an Oscar nomination for the dynamic dance number ‘Naatu Naatu,’ this film has become an international sensation.
It’s no wonder that Rajamouli is preparing to celebrate his third big-screen success with a special event on March 1 called the ‘RRR Fan CelebRRRation Live.’ The show will see actor Ram Charan, director Rajamouli, and music composer M. M Keeravaani present at the venue and will be screened at the American Cinematheque in Los Angeles, US.
“We’re happy to be part of bringing this great film to new audiences,” said Dylan Marchetti, Vice President and Head of North America for Variance Films. ‘RRR‘ is an ideal fit for his company’s mission to connect Asian films with North American audiences, especially those seeking a thrill on the silver screen.
In addition to being a great cultural experience, “RRR” also has an important message of hope. The movie is a powerful drama about two heroes trying to fight for India’s freedom. It’s a testament to the power of Indian cinema and a perfect example of how far Bollywood can go when it taps into its true potential.
As a result, it is easy to see why the film is considered one of India’s greatest ever. Among other accolades, it received Best Original Music at the 28th Critics’ Choice Awards. It was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the Golden Globes and for its song ‘Naatu Naatu‘ at the 95th Academy Awards.
‘RRR’ is the latest in a series of films that have dominated the box office this year and have won over critical audiences with their awe-inspiring action and rousing storytelling. So it is no wonder Rajamouli is focusing on this project as his next major big-screen outing after the critically acclaimed ‘Baahubali’ franchise.
