Hacks for Cleaning Your Ceiling Cassette Filter

Ceiling cassette air conditioning units offer a wide range of benefits, including their high voltage point for optimal air spread and unobtrusive placement. While their high-amount location, inconspicuousness and seamless blend with ceilings are great, they make it easy to forget them. This is especially the case when your ceiling cassette aircon system runs without any issues.

If some time has elapsed since you bought, installed, and first ran your ceiling cassette unit, it might be due for a little TLC. To continue enjoying the numerous benefits it offers, here are a few tips for cleaning your ceiling cassette filter.

Preparation

A crucial step to any task and project is preparation work. And this doesn’t come as a surprise considering preparation allows for the safety of both you and your unit. It sets you up for successful and smooth future tasks with minimal mishaps. Before you finally make up your mind to retrieve the filter, you must ensure the AC unit is off and disconnected from its power source.

What You’ll Need

There are different approaches to take when you want to clean air filters. But the two major ones include vacuuming and rinsing. With vacuuming your filter, you may have to install a small paintbrush to reach the duct collected in the tight corners of the filter as well.

Rinsing doesn’t entail any special solutions. You don’t have to push yourself to the limit since a mild detergent and warm water can do the trick. Among the best solutions worth considering include dishwashing soap, laundry detergents, and other mixes featuring surfactants that dissolve dirt and grease. To wipe off the dust, ensure you use a lint-free cloth.

Keep in mind both cleaning methods require you to clean with the inlet side of the filter face up. You also don’t want to use any harsh scrubbers or materials to wipe down the filter as you rinse it to avoid further damage.

Once you’re done washing the ceiling cassette filter, be sure to set it aside to air dry, preferably not in direct sunlight, and return it to its home once completely dried.
