An earthquake of magnitude 6.9 struck the Kermadec Islands region in New Zealand on Saturday, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) said. The quake hit at 06:41 GMT, the USGS said. It was detected at a depth of 150-205 kilometers (93-127 miles) and 928 km northeast of Kerikeri.
